I just recently read something that said bobby pins would make a great stitch marker while crocheting in the round.
For those of you who do not crochet, crocheting in the round means you just keep doing single crochet stitches round and round, without joining at the end of each round. However, you do need to know which row you are on, and this is where a stitch marker comes in handy...you just attach it to the last stitch on each round as you go.
Now....I am too cheap to buy those expensive stitch market sets....I don't need 'a set' of them, I only need ONE. I started using safety pins but kept sticking myself every time I opened and closed them. Then the other day I read somewhere that a bobby pin makes a great stitch marker and I have to agree.
I just wish I could remember where I read it so I can give someone the credit for coming up with this fantastic idea.
