WELCOME TO THE GRANNY'S CRAFT ATTIC BLOG!!!

Well I finally got high tech and started a blog...I hope you will find it interesting, funny or at the very least, something to read while you are on hold on the phone. Mostly you will find ramblings about my crafting, my Etsy.com shop, my family or just about anything that comes to mind.

MY JOURNEY INTO THE WAFFLE STITCH

A couple of weeks ago I was looking at a site's sale books on crochet, and came across a book teaching how to do the Waffle Stitch. Being retired and poor, I didn't have the money to buy the book. My brain kicked into gear and I hopped on over to Youtube and searched out 'Waffle Stitch", watched a video and began work on another crocheted baby afghan COMPLETELY WITHOUT reading a pattern. This was a first for me because, although I consider myself creative, I have never really been able to create something without reading instructions....so I am really proud of how this "Mint Waffle Baby Afghan" turned out.
I would love to have your comments about this pattern! Please give honest feedback.

  1. Well done...it's really nice and I bet it feels nice too. It's not a stitch I have ever done myself but I think I may do so now having seen your lovely blanket. I like the colours you have used too.

  2. Thank you RosyTint :) Yes, it has a really cushy feel to it....because of the way the stitch is done.

  5. Do you have a pattern for this blanket? A friend of mine lost her baby blanket and I would love to make her a new one.
